Sus Vásquez is a female guitarist from Medellin, Colombia currently based in NYC. Considered a versatile musician for her flexibility and professionalism when performing and recording in a wide variety of styles.
She is currently the guitarist for the top selling artist and Latin Grammy winner Karol G. They have performed in several major events and sold out shows around South America. Karol G is one of Latin America’s most important female artists in the Urban/Reggaetón genre. Latin Grammys, Billboard Latin Music Awards, iHeartRadio Music Awards, Latin American Music Awards nominee, her single “Mi Cama” currently has more than 400 million views on YouTube and reached the #1 spot on the Billboard AirPlay.
In addition to Karol G’s work Sus had the opportunity to perform live with the top selling group Piso 21, who’s hit single “Déjala que Vuelva” has over 1.1 Million views on YouTube.
In 2016, Sus participated in the Kiesel Guitar Contest with around 5.000 highly trained guitar players from around the world, where she was ranked among the Top 5 finalists, being the only female and individual from South America.
Sus performed with Chuck Rainy, Steve Bailey, Dave Welsch,Anthony Wellingtonand Victor Wootenduring the Bass and Nature camp in Nashville, Tennessee. All of these musicians are top world class bass players.
During the 2018 Namm in Anaheim Sus performed in the LsL Instruments, Vertex Effects, Fenderand Deplike booths. She played with many recognized guitar players like Carl Verheyen, Artur Menezes, Seth Rosenbloom, Unai Iker and Edmer Omiand also, she was interviewed by Tomo Fujita on the Fender booth.

Sus has also performed as a solo artist at IV Festival de Guitarra Internacional de Cartagena, Guitarmasters Festival and Hard Rock Cafe Medellin presenting her own solo guitar instrumental music. She shared stage with players like Felix Martin, Tom Abella, Trevor Gordon, HallTom Abella, Henry Borreroand Francho Espina.
Another performance as a solo artist was on an event from Pickup and She Shreds in NYC. In this show Sus shared stage with other 3 incredible talented female players from NYC: Hannah Murphy, Eliza Carringtonand Sávila.
In 2017 she auditioned and was awarded with a scholarship to study on the recognized music school The Collective School of Musicin NYC.
In the past, Sus was the main guitarist of the band from the well-known club Kukaramakarain Medellin. They played in many important events around Colombia and shows like Bruuttal 2016. She worked in many weddings and corporative bands like MonoVilla Music, La Bicicleta, Mamboss Music, among others. She also played in Federico Franco personal project playing in different venues of Medellin as well as the Festival Saca El Diablo in Quito, Ecuador.
Born in Medellin, Colombia in 1995 Sus started playing the guitar when she was in middle school and soon found out that her passion for music would be her entire life. Sus took classes of guitar, music theory, composition, bass, piano and music production with several teachers around town and when she graduated from high school she decided to do a major in music composition in EAFIT University.
In third semester she changes her major to Jazz guitar perfomance now being sure that on this instrument are her biggest dreams. Shortly, Sus starts playing lots of gigs around town including important events, weddings and on cover bands.
She is majoring Jazz perfomance at EAFIT University and now is moving to nyc to persue her musical dreams.
