Get to know Sus's story
Susana Vásquez is a guitarist and composer from Colombia. Considered a versatile musician for her flexibility to perform and record in a variety of styles. She composes and produces her own original instrumental music.
Sus is currently featured as an LsL instruments artist and sponsored by Lovell Musiclab pedals.
She has played with well known artists such as Piso21, Karol G, Federico Franco, Fernando Gil and has been the main guitarist for the Kukaramacara Bar.
In 2016, Sus participated in the Kiesel Guitar Contest with around 5.000 guitar players from around the world, she was between the top 5 finalists.
Sus has also performed as a solo artist on Guitarmasters festival, presenting her own solo guitar instrumental music being a fusion between rock, ambiente music, soundtracks, indie and progressive metal. As a composer Sus has scored for short films and has several pieces for contemporary classical music.
Born in Medellin, Colombia in 1995 Sus started playing the guitar when she was in middle school and soon found out that her passion for music would be her entire life. Sus took classes of guitar, music theory, composition, bass, piano and music production with several teachers around town and when she graduated from high school she decided to do a major in music composition in EAFIT University.
In third semester she changes her major to Jazz guitar perfomance now being sure that on this instrument are her biggest dreams. Shortly, Sus starts playing lots of gigs around town including important events, weddings and on cover bands.
She is majoring Jazz perfomance at EAFIT University and is looking forward her graduation to move to US and be a session and touring guitarist for big artists.
